The Dalmore 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Alness, founded in 1839 on the Cromarty Firth. It is bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky matures for around 14 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then spends its final four years in casks that previously held 30 year old Matusalem Oloroso sherry, supplied by Gonzalez Byass.
The nose combines vanilla, dark chocolate, orange, cinnamon and red fruits. The palate has milk and dark chocolate, candied citrus, coffee, nutmeg and soft liquorice, and the finish is long and spiced with caramel, molasses and citrus.
