The Dalmore – 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 43%)

The Dalmore 18 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is an annual limited edition. It begins in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, which give a base of soft vanilla and honey, and is then finished for longer in hand-selected 30 year old Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks from the González Byass bodega in Spain. The casks sit close to the cold, damp floor and walls of the distillery's dunnage warehouses, and the whisky takes on a rich, deep chocolate character. The aroma brings vanilla, dark chocolate, English marmalade and sweet liquorice. The palate has chocolate raisins, citrus fruits, rich coffee, nutmeg and spice, and the finish is stewed fruits and toffee.
