The Dalmore – 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl, 43%)

This is an 18 year old Highland single malt from The Dalmore, in a 750ml bottle at 43% ABV. It matured in two stages: 14 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, followed by 4 years in Spanish Oloroso sherry butts. The four-year sherry finish brings dried fruit and rich sweetness to the vanilla and soft fruit of the bourbon-cask years. The nose offers strawberry, rhubarb, candied orange, vanilla and coffee. On the palate there is orange marmalade, dark chocolate, caramel and ginger, leading to a long, warming finish of dried fruit and spice.
