The Dalmore 40 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured for four decades in a combination of cask types at the distillery on the Cromarty Firth. It is bottled at 42%.
It is presented in a hand-crafted crystal decanter with a silver stag head, housed in an ebony-lacquered cabinet with a crystal stopper and presentation card. Richard Paterson OBE is the distillery's Master Distiller.
The nose offers dark bitter orange, antique leather, dried fig, toffee and aged Oloroso sherry, with old oak, sandalwood and winter spice. The palate has dark chocolate orange, dried fruit, espresso and cinnamon in a velvety texture. The finish is very long, with dark fruit, oak, bitter chocolate and dried citrus.
