The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is a Highland single malt from the Dalmore distillery in Alness, part of its Principal Collection. It is bottled at 46.5% in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky is matured first in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. About half is then moved to aged tawny Port pipes from W and J Graham's, and the two parcels are married before bottling.
The nose offers sweet red berries, Seville oranges, plummy fruit and sticky toffee pudding. The palate brings nectarines, creamy caramel, roasted chestnuts and Java coffee. The finish carries plums, sultanas, blood oranges and macerated cherries.
