A 14 year old Highland single malt released for the 200th anniversary of GlenDronach, which James Allardice founded in 1826. It takes its name from Boynsmill House, the Georgian estate at the heart of the distillery, and is bottled at 46.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, then finished in Claret red wine casks, which add berry notes and light tannins to the dark-fruit sherry character. It is natural colour. The nose offers Christmas cake, candied orange peel and dark cherry with dark chocolate. The palate brings dried figs, dates and cherry compote with honeyed malt and cinnamon, and the finish is long and warming.
