The GlenDronach The Venetian Room is a Highland single malt from the House Editions series, inspired by Venice. It was created by Master Blender Dr Rachel Barrie as part of the distillery's 200th-anniversary celebrations.
The whisky was matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks together with Italian Amarone red wine casks, and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings dark cherries, blackcurrants, dates, cocoa, tiramisu and amaretti biscuits. On the palate come honeyed red plum, almond liqueur, maraschino cherries and Black Forest gâteau. The finish is long, with forest fruits, hazelnut cream and caramel macchiato.
