The Glenlivet – 12 Year Old Old Style (1970s) (70cl, 40%)

A 12 year old Glenlivet in a 70cl bottle from the 1970s, bottled by George & J. G. Smith Limited. The label still gives the strength as 70° proof and the volume as 26 2/3 fl oz, and the whisky is 40% ABV. The label and box styling dates it to the late 1960s or 1970s, and the whisky was distilled in the 1960s. The label states 'Unblended All Malt Scotch Whisky', a reminder that this was not a given for the time. Glenlivet was one of the first distilleries to be granted a licence.
