The Glenlivet 14 Year Old Cognac Cask Selection is a Speyside single malt matured for 14 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, then finished for at least six months in ex-Cognac casks from the Charentes region.
The French oak finish adds the influence of grape-derived spirit, with floral and stone fruit character, to the distillery's fruit and vanilla style. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
The nose is rich, with white peach, vanilla, dried apricot, floral honey and a faint grape note. On the palate there is stone fruit, caramel, a hint of grape sweetness and spice from the French oak, and the finish is medium to long with fruit, warm oak and gentle Cognac warmth.
