The Glenlivet 18 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky matured for 18 years in a combination of American oak and ex-sherry casks. It comes in a 750ml bottle.
The house style is floral, and here it is layered with oak, spice and fruit. The colour is deep gold with amber highlights.
The nose has ripe orchard fruits, honey and caramel, with hints of oak spice and roasted almonds. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with baked apple, sweet orange, cinnamon and nutmeg, balanced by creamy toffee and vanilla. The finish is long, warming and slightly dry, with oak, spice and fruit sweetness.
