The Glenlivet – 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl, 43%)

A Speyside single malt from The Glenlivet, matured for 18 years and bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. The distillery, at Ballindalloch, was established in 1824 and was the first in Scotland to take out a licence under the Excise Act of 1823. The whisky is matured in first and second fill American and European oak casks. The American oak adds vanilla and soft fruit, while the European oak brings nutmeg, dried fruit and richness. The tasting notes give dried fruit, floral notes, vanilla, light citrus and coconut on the nose. The palate offers candied fruit, vanilla, spiced orange and gentle oak, followed by a long, smooth finish of fruit and spice.
