The Glenlivet Code is a limited edition Speyside single malt, the third release in The Glenlivet's Mystery Series. It was created by Master Distiller Alan Winchester as a deliberate flavour puzzle and came in an opaque black bottle, with no cask details printed on it.
The casks were revealed later in 2018: American oak barrels, selectively finished in ex-Canadian first-fill rye barrels. It was released in March 2018 and bottled at 48%.
The nose keeps to the fruity Glenlivet style, with orchard fruit, ripe pear, vanilla and honey, along with soft baking spice, a gentle rye character and red apple from the rye cask finish.
