The Kurayoshi 8 Year Old Pure Malt (70cl, 43%)

The Kurayoshi 8 Year Old is a pure malt whisky from Tottori Prefecture in Japan, in a 70cl bottle at 43% abv. It is a blend of two single malts, one from Scotland and one from Japan, each matured beforehand in white oak casks and then married together near the volcanic Mount Daisen. The company behind it was founded in 1910 as the Matsui Distillery, and the Kurayoshi brand was launched in 2016. The colour is gold. The nose brings dried fruit, oak, spice, nuts and grain. The palate is nutty, gently sweet and mild, with vanilla, grain and toasted pastry, leading to a medium, lightly malty finish.
