Togouchi Premium Japanese Blended Whisky (70cl, 40%)

Togouchi Premium is a blended whisky from Japan, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is not coloured and not chill-filtered. The blend marries an 8 year old Scotch single malt with a Canadian grain whisky. It then matures for five years in Spanish sherry casks, kept in a disused railway tunnel. The vanilla sweetness of the grain meets the fruit and chocolate notes of the sherry. Straw-yellow in colour, it has a nose of butterscotch, vanilla, fresh grass and sherry. The palate is sweet, with exotic fruit, marshmallow, nutmeg, honey and butter biscuits. The finish is long, with sweet fruit and fine spice.
