Togouchi – Sake Cask Finish (70cl, 40%)

This is a Japanese blended whisky from Togouchi, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It was finished in oak casks that had first been used to mature the distillery's own junmai sake, in casks of the kind used for white wine at Japanese wineries. The finish brings a brown sugar sweetness from the wood, alongside a moderate acidity. The colour is golden. The nose is fruity and estery. The palate is mellow, with brown sugar sweetness and moderate acidity, and the finish stays mellow with acidity and sweetness.
