A 30 year old Tormore distilled in 1991 and matured in a single refill sherry butt. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it for the Connoisseurs Choice range on 15 December 2021 at a natural cask strength of 55.7%, filling 488 bottles.
The Connoisseurs Choice range was created in 1968 by George Urquhart to show single malts that were rarely seen at a time when most whisky went into blends.
The nose offers blackcurrant and pressed apple. On the palate come sweet toffee, cinnamon spice and roasted hazelnuts, and the medium finish carries toasted almonds and spice.
