Woodford Reserve Batch 0001 is a Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey, bottled at 45.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 51% malt and aged in new charred oak barrels, which sets it apart from a typical 100% malt whiskey.
The colour is warm umber. Soft nutty notes with light caramel and milk chocolate sit over apple, dried fruit and tropical fruit on the nose, with brown spice, savoury mint, brown sugar and toasted oak. The palate brings dark chocolate and caramel-coated nuts with cocoa powder and toasted coconut, and the finish is nutty with subtly sweet chocolate malt.
