This is the 2021 Holiday Edition of Woodford Reserve Distiller's Select, a Kentucky straight bourbon in a one-litre bottle at 45.2% ABV (90.4 proof). The label shows a painted scene of the distillery's still house at Versailles, Kentucky, dressed for Christmas.
The mash is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, distilled in copper pot stills and triple distilled, then matured in new charred American oak.
The nose brings dried fruit, vanilla and toasted oak with mint, orange and cocoa. The palate is rounded, with caramel, honey, dark chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and gentle rye spice. The finish is long and silky, with lingering spice and toasted wood.
