A Kentucky straight bourbon from Woodford Reserve, finished in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels and bottled at 45.2% in a 37.5cl bottle. It is a 2026 release in the limited-edition Distillery Series.
The finishing is the work of Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall, who took on the role in 2023, and it brings red wine into a Kentucky bourbon.
The nose is raspberry jam, sweet dark plums and cherries, with buttery caramel, light spicy oak, a little leather, a touch of grapefruit and later hints of sweet apple. The palate is raspberry jam, dark plums, light honey, mild oak and leather. The finish turns tangy like dried cherries, with white pepper and a long, dry, warming close.
