Woodford Reserve – Kentucky Bourbon (75cl, 45.2%)

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon is a straight bourbon from Woodford County, Kentucky, in a 750ml bottle. The distillery site dates its production back to 1812, while the Woodford Reserve brand itself was introduced in 1996. The grain recipe is 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, fermented for six days and triple distilled in copper pot stills before maturing in new charred oak barrels. It is usually bottled at 45.2%. The nose has rich dried fruit, mint and oranges dusted with cocoa, with faint vanilla and tobacco spice. The palate is rich and rounded, with citrus, cinnamon, toffee, caramel and chocolate, and the finish is long and warm.
