Woodford Reserve Kentucky Derby 148 is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 1 litre bottle, bottled at 45.2% (90.4 proof). It is the commemorative edition for the 2022 running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, with painted artwork of thoroughbreds racing through a field of roses.
The bourbon is matured in new charred American oak and triple distilled in copper pot stills at the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky.
The nose brings dried fruit, vanilla and toasted oak with hints of mint, orange and cocoa. The palate is rounded and full, with caramel, honey and dark chocolate over cinnamon, nutmeg and gentle rye spice. The finish is long and silky, with spice, toasted wood and a touch of tobacco.
