This is the Kentucky Derby 150 edition of Woodford Reserve, a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 1 litre bottle at 45.2% vol. Woodford Reserve is the Official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby, and the bottle was released for the 150th running at Churchill Downs in May 2024. Its artwork shows a crimson horse and jockey against a field of roses.
The whiskey is Distiller's Select, triple distilled in copper pot stills at the distillery in Versailles, Kentucky, and matured in new charred American oak. Each Derby edition is produced for a single year.
The nose offers dried fruit, vanilla and toasted oak with hints of mint, orange and cocoa. The palate is rounded, with caramel, honey, dark chocolate and spice, and the finish is long and silky.
