Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Select American Oak is the 2018 edition of this Kentucky bourbon, matured in oak from one specific Ozark terroir. The oak was chosen for its fast-growing characteristics, and barrels sharing a common wood structure give the batch a nutty, sweet aromatic character.
The nose is crisp, yeasty and bready, with soft oak, vanilla, milk chocolate and marzipan, while walnut, pecan and autumn leaves bring the oak tannins forward. The palate offers soft nuttiness, sweet tea, peach and cocoa powder. The finish is long and warm, with a hint of wood spice.
