Woodford Reserve – Masters Collection Select American Oak 2018 (70cl)

This is the 2018 Masters Collection release from Woodford Reserve, a Kentucky bourbon in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in oak from a single Ozark source, chosen for its fast-growing character. Because the barrels share a common wood structure, the batch has a nutty, sweet aroma reminiscent of warm baked goods. On the nose there are crisp, yeasty and bready notes with soft oak, vanilla, milk chocolate and marzipan, plus walnut, pecan and autumn leaves. The palate is soft and nutty, with sweet tea, peach and cocoa powder. The finish is long and warm, with a hint of wood spice.
