Writers' Tears Double Oaked is an Irish whiskey that marries single pot still and single malt whiskeys. It is matured in bourbon barrels and French oak Cognac barrels.
The nose offers dark berry fruit, cinnamon, fudge, milk chocolate, graham crackers, jellied fruit and a touch of dry spice. On the palate come cinnamon, chocolate, dark toffee, pepper and ginger, well structured and neither cloying nor overly sweet.
