Yellow Spot 12 Year Old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

Yellow Spot is a 12 year old single pot still Irish whiskey, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured for the full twelve years in three types of oak cask: American bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry butts and Spanish Malaga casks. The Malaga casks add an exotic sweet note. The name comes from Mitchell & Son, the Dublin wine merchants and whiskey bonders who matured whiskey in cellars beneath the city's streets. Casks filled with Jameson from the Bow Street distillery were marked with a spot of paint showing how long they would rest. Yellow meant 12 years, alongside blue for 7, green for 10 and red for 15.
