Yellow Spot is a 12 year old single pot still Irish whiskey, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle and not chill-filtered. It returned after a break of several decades, the previous release having appeared in the fifties.
The whiskey is matured in three kinds of cask: American bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry butts and Malaga wine casks, the last of which is rarely used for maturing whisky. The Malaga casks add an exotic sweetness. It is bottled by Mitchell & Son.
Single pot still means it is made in copper pot stills from both malted and unmalted barley.
