10th Street STR is an unpeated American single malt from a distillery in San Jose, California. It is made with imported Scottish malted barley, distilled in copper pots and bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle, without chill filtration.
It is matured in STR casks, which are ex-bourbon barrels that have been shaved, toasted and re-charred. This treatment is meant to balance the influence of malt and wood.
The colour is light golden. The nose is lightly spicy, with sweet caramel, butterscotch, clove honey and candied orange peel. The palate has a complex, cherry-like sweetness with vanilla bean, nutmeg and clove, and the finish is smooth and round with candied fruits.
