The Sneakerhead Blend is a Kentucky straight bourbon from 2XO, part of its Icon Series of limited-edition, small-batch blends inspired by cultural themes, here sneaker culture. It was created by the 2XO blending team led by Dixon Dedman.
The blend combines a high-rye mash of around 35% rye with a moderate-rye mash of around 18% rye. The high-rye portion is double-barrelled into new charred oak barrels, at char levels 3 and 4, for extra oak influence. It is bottled at 52% ABV.
The nose offers vanilla, banana bread and toasted oak, with cinnamon and clove. The palate brings caramel, cherry, white pepper and espresso bean. The finish is long and peppery, with orange chocolate, leather and dry oak.
