2XO The Vinyl Blend is a Kentucky bourbon at 52% ABV in a 750ml bottle, the sixth release in Dixon Dedman's small-batch Icon Series. It is a one-off blend of two mash bills, one 35% high-rye and one 18% moderate-rye, with 40% of the blend double-barrelled for 9 to 12 months in new #4 charred oak.
The name comes from Dedman's love of vinyl records, and the bourbon is meant for sipping neat while a classic record plays.
Baked apples, graham cracker, roasted nuts, cinnamon and black pepper lead the nose. The palate offers honeysuckle sweetness, vanilla crème brûlée and grilled pineapple, followed by a long, viscous, peppery finish.
