This is a small-batch Islay single malt bottled by the independent bottler A.D. Rattray, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It comes from an Islay distillery that is not named and is peated to 35 parts per million.
It is a vatting of ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry hogsheads, the sherry wood sourced directly from small bodegas in Jerez, Spain. The whisky is under ten years old.
Tasting notes describe peat smoke and sherry on the nose, with campfire, raisin and dark chocolate. The palate is full and layered with smoke, dried fruit, malt sweetness and oak spice, and the finish is long, drying and smoky-sweet.
