A.D. Rattray Cask Orkney 18 Year Old is a single malt from an undisclosed distillery on Orkney, bottled by the independent bottler A.D. Rattray at 46% ABV. It was released in May 2018 as a limited edition.
The whisky was matured fully in ex-bourbon casks. It is lightly peated, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, and it won Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2019.
The nose offers heather honey, sea air and soft peat. On the palate there is malt, dried fruit, gentle smoke and vanilla oak, and the finish is long, with lingering honey and a final wisp of peat.
