A.D. Rattray Cask Speyside 12 Year Old Sherry Finish (70cl, 46%)

Cask Speyside is a 12 year old single malt from independent bottler A.D. Rattray, part of its Casks of Scotland series, in which each small batch presents one Scottish whisky region. It matured in bourbon casks and was then finished in sherry casks. The series vattings draw on up to 20 casks from a single distillery. This one is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colouring. The nose pairs sweet almond glaze and cinnamon with red apple and blackcurrant. On the palate, cherry plum and spicy honey meet a lively note of orange marmalade. The finish begins with gentle spice and closes on slightly tart blackberry.
