A. Overholt Straight Rye Monongahela Mash 4 Year Old is a Pennsylvania rye in the Monongahela style, made from a rye-forward mash and aged for four years in charred oak. It comes in a 750ml bottle at 47.5% ABV.
The nose has soft rye grain, golden raisins, honey and baked cinnamon apples. Brown butter opens the palate, followed by white pepper, clove, graham cracker and peanut brittle. The finish brings baking spices, leather, blackberry and gentle oak heat.
