This is Aberfeldy 12 Year Old, a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle, supplied in a tin. Twelve years in American white oak casks that previously held bourbon give it a distinct sweetness.
The colour is amber. The nose is fruity, with beeswax and orange peel, a light smokiness and honey late on. The palate is soft but full: sweetness first, then pepper and a return of orange zest.
