This is a 12 year old Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Aberfeldy, in a 70cl bottle and supplied in a gold tin.
It spends its 12 years in American white oak casks that previously held bourbon. Its sweetness comes without aggressive smoke, and the colour is amber.
The nose brings fruit and beeswax, a touch of orange peel and a very light smokiness that ends on honey. The palate is soft but full, sweet at first, then pepper and candied orange return. The finish carries honey, orange zest and a hint of pepper.
