Aberfeldy 16 Year Old is a Highland single malt from Aberfeldy Distillery in Perthshire, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was released in 2015 as part of the Last Great Malts series.
The whisky matured in first-fill, refill and re-char bourbon casks, then spent a further six months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks.
The notes describe honey, citrus and spicy cloves on the nose. The palate is full and sherried, like fruitcake, with touches of rich dark chocolate, and the finish is rich and mouth-coating, with honey throughout.
