Aberfeldy 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt, the 2023 limited release in the distillery's Red Wine Cask Collection. It is bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky spent 18 years in refill and hogshead casks, then around 15 months in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon barriques from California's Napa Valley. The collection was first launched in 2019.
Fruit leads the nose, with deepening red berry aromas, tart blackberry and plum over green apple and honeyed, floral malt. The palate is rich and velvety, and the finish is mellow and syrupy.
