Aberfeldy – 18 Year Old Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Cask Finish Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl)

This is an 18 year old Highland single malt from Aberfeldy, finished in Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon casks. It belongs to the Red Wine Cask Collection, launched in 2019 by Malt Master Stephanie Macleod to explore how red wine casks work with the distillery's aged malt. The spirit spent about sixteen and a half years in refill and hogshead casks before resting for around fifteen months in ex-Cabernet Sauvignon casks from Napa Valley. The nose offers cherry, plum jam, blackcurrant, heather honey and muscovado sugar. On the palate the wine influence sits over honey, malt, plum, blackberry, clove, dried fruit and chocolate, with a velvety texture.
