Aberfeldy 1978 40 Year Old is a Highland single malt from cask #5029, matured in American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads since 1978 and bottled at 50.1% ABV.
Only three casks were filled, and this is the first to be released.
It opens with gentle aromas of honeysuckle and fresh-cut grass, then moves on to heather honey, subtle oak and an elegant warmth.
