This Aberfeldy 2014 is a 12 year old single cask Highland malt from Signatory Vintage's Cask Strength Collection. It was distilled on 2 June 2014 and matured in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, cask 5, before bottling at a natural cask strength of 59.2% ABV. The outturn is 649 bottles.
The nose opens with honey and sweet malt, then raisins, dried fruits and orange peel, with dark chocolate, toasted nuts and gentle oak. The palate is full-bodied, with raisin, fig, dark chocolate, honeyed malt, caramel and toasted almonds, and cinnamon and oak spice build as it develops. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, cocoa, honey and nutty sweetness.
