Aberfeldy 21 Year Old is a Highland single malt from Aberfeldy Distillery in Perthshire, the heart malt of Dewar's. It is bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky is drawn from casks aged 21 years and longer: sherry, bourbon, refill and re-char. The distillery uses 100% malted barley and a fermentation of around 70 hours, and draws its water from the Pitilie Burn. The Dewar brothers built it in 1896, and it entered production in 1898.
The nose is floral heather honey with creamy intensity, dried fruits and toasted coconut. The palate brings macadamia nuts, beeswax, orange, dried fruits, toasted coconut and silky oak, with a trace of smoke.
