This is a 39 year old single malt from Aberfeldy in the Central Highlands, bottled at a natural cask strength of 50.8% in a 700ml bottle. It was distilled on 6 December 1983 and bottled on 23 November 2023, all from one refill puncheon that yielded 222 bottles.
It was chosen under Malt Master Stephanie J. Macleod for Aberfeldy's Exceptional Cask Series, and it is bottled in its natural colour.
The nose is heather honey on buttered toast, with orange zest, summer roses, vanilla, dark chocolate and star anise. The palate is sweet honey and creamy vanilla with subtle spice and citrus zest. The finish is long and warming, with honey, spice and a little oak.
