Aberlour – 16 Year Old Double Cask Matured (75cl, 40%)

Aberlour 16 Year Old Double Cask Matured is a Speyside single malt from the Aberlour Distillery, founded in 1879 in Charlestown of Aberlour on the banks of the River Lour. It is bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. The whisky spent 16 years in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and first-fill sherry casks, pairing the vanilla and fruit of American oak with the richness and spice of European sherry oak. The nose offers hazelnut, toffee, sugar cookies, light sherry and vanilla. Cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted oats and subtle dried fruit show on the palate, leading to a long, warm finish of lingering spice and oak.
