This is an 18 year old Speyside single malt from Aberlour, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle as Batch 005.
The whisky was matured in American oak and then fully finished in specially selected first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, known for juicy raisin and liquorice flavours, together with Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which bring a rich, syrupy sweetness.
On the palate it is rich and fruity, with apricot, chocolate-covered raisins, liquorice root and grated nutmeg. The finish is long, with lasting sweetness.
