Aberlour 18 Year Old Double Sherry Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle, released in small batches since 2022. The distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming.
The whisky is matured for eighteen years in American oak and European oak casks. It is then brought together and finished in first-fill Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is creamy, like melted vanilla ice cream, fruity and honeyed. The palate offers apricot, chocolate-coated raisins, liquorice root and freshly grated nutmeg, and Pedro Ximenez sweetness carries through the finish.
