Aberlour 18 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from Aberlour Distillery, bottled at 43% ABV after 18 years of maturation.
It is matured in two stages: first in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in Spanish oak Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry butts.
The nose is toffee, butterscotch, honey and ripe peach, with citrus peel, vanilla and dried fruit. The palate is full and silky, with apples, oranges, sultanas and vanilla, then warming spice and subtle oak. The finish is long, with chocolate-covered raisins, caramel and gentle spice.
