Aberlour – 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl, 43%)

A Speyside single malt from Aberlour Distillery, in Charlestown of Aberlour, matured for 18 years and bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. The whisky spends its whole maturation in sherry-seasoned oak casks, with no bourbon casks involved. It won Double Gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in both 2011 and 2012. The tasting notes describe a nose of rich sherry, dried fruit, oak, spice and light smoke. On the palate come dark fruit, chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla and warming oak, leading to a long finish of sherry and spice.
