This is an 18 year old Speyside single malt from Aberlour, in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle with an auburn gold colour.
Its character comes from a double sherry finish, drawing on both Spanish oak oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry butts.
The nose is rich with ripe fruit, orange zest, toffee buns and plum jam. On the palate it is fruity, with apricot, chocolate-coated raisins, liquorice root and freshly grated nutmeg. The finish is long and complex, with lasting sweetness.
