Aberlour A'bunadh Batch No. 63 is a Speyside single malt bottled at cask strength, 61% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The name is Gaelic for "the origin" and pays tribute to the founder, James Fleming.
Each batch is matured entirely in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, and the whisky is non-chill filtered.
The nose is deep sherry with figs, cinnamon bark, orange oil, worn leather and toasted nuts. The palate is thick and weighty, with black cherries soaked in Armagnac, dark chocolate, clove and oak spice. The finish is long, with dried fruit and warmth, ending in spiced oak and sweet tobacco.
